I have a BCM 400 3.0. Customer lost the password to the switch. Nortel apparently does not have a back door to reset the password on this software release. I plan on ordering a new hard drive loaded with the 3.6 or 3.7 software and replacing the existing drive and building from scratch. I have two questions:

1. Will current keycodes be valid as long as I keep the upgrade below version 4.0?

2. Will programming on the MSC card remain keeping me from programming extensions and trunking setup?

All advise is greatly appreciated

Soop

You will need to do an INI to the MSC to upgrade it to 3.6 and you will need to reinstall the Keycodes.

That is a big 10-4. Whoever installed this system changed all of the default passwords and of course, apparently did not note anything. The current system is running fine, they cannot log on to make any administrative changes.
