BCM 3.0 Status Reset Button- Help or Hinder??

Can anyone tell me the effect of using teh soft reset button on a 3.0 BCM? I am having issues accessing the box, whether I try and enter through serial connection, remote modem access or Web Browser,I cannot get to the management tools.

The system took a power hit and although the reception area still has ringing lines(POTS Lines)and the phones have held the majority of their soft key features, there is no Call Pilot functioning. I am thinking a hardrive issue, but was wondering if hitting thr reset may help me. My Status light is out, which according to my manual indicates not all services are working..

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

It does sound like re-boot time. I don't think the reset button resets everything, but should get you to a point where you can do a shutdown or restart.

Yes, SOMETIMES.
I know that is not the answer you want to hear, but I have also had to do a hard power cycle if the reset button did not clear it. I dislike doing the power cycle, but that my be the only option. Make sure you don't hear any disk activity if you have to do it.

We have already done the power cycle thing twice, and the results were the same- some functionality, but clearly issues still on the table, including no VMail
