I have a BCM 200 with software version 4.0. I reset the system back to factory defaults and now i'm having problems getting the MBMs to initialize.

I have a DSM16+ and a CTM8 installed with all dip switches set to on. I have assigned the CTM8 to DS30 #7 and the DSM16+ to DS30 #2 in Telephony Resources of BCM Element Manager.

The current state of the LEDs on my DSN16+ is a solid green LED for power and a blinking red LED for status. Also, when I look at Hardware Inventory I do not see either MBM in the Media Bay Modules section.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you need to set the dipswitches to relate to the bus you are using..you should see this in resources

That's incorrect. With software version 4.0 the dipswitches must all be set to on. The dipswitch settings only matter to version 3.7 and earlier.

One of the guys here just had that same problem. He got it resolved. I will check with him in the morning and see how he fixed it.

taber4life, i don't know where you got that information but snowman50 is right, you have to set the dipswitches accordingly and not all set to on,that's where your problem is.

Snowman & gberger r correct. BCM200/400 require u to set the dipswitches. BCM450 & BCM50 r the ones where u set the mbms to all on.

My apologies... i had been misinformed by someone I work with about that. I have since set the dip switches but still the MBMs still appear to not be working.

I have the DSM16+ in bus 2 and the CTM8 in bus 7. Here are my dip switch settings (2/6 split):

MBM 16+ in Bus 2 have dip switches as follows:
OFF ON ON ON ON ON

CTM8 in Bus 7 have dip switches as follows:
ON ON ON OFF ON OFF

Still not working...

Thanks for the responses.

That is correct but the DSM will say unequiped or enableing untill a phone is connected. The CTM8 should get a firmware update -download from the BCM then come ready. It says in the 4.0 doc the CTM4-8 should work.Try hooking a lone to the CTM 8.

Ok everyone... I cracked this BCM open on the sneaking suspicion that there had to be something else missing from this equation. Sure enough, the wire connecting the the MBM board and the motherboard had gotten disconnected at the motherboard. Both MBMs are functioning now and I've got a set that came up perfectly on the system.

Thanks to everyone for their input and sorry to have wasted your time over something that probably should have been looked into immediately.
