I have a BCM 200 and al lights on front are flashing except the Hard Drive light(it never flashes at all). The system was running ok until someone pulled the plug in error and this is what happened. Is there anything I can try or is it a bad hard drive? Thanks

Check the BFT for bad capacitors?

Is the system completely down?

Are the capacitors Green or Blue, if there green there the Bad capacitors. Nortel will replace the BFT FREE until 12/31/07.

If you have green capacitors that must be the problem. If you want to check the hard disk, just unscrew and remove the front cover, then you'll see a video connector, connect your monitor to it and power on your bcm, you'll see if the hard disk is defective if it shows something like "non-system disk" or if you a bunch of errors. Good luck!

I have the green ones. How do I go about getting Nortel to replace the BFT. Thanks again for the great help.

Thats actually good news. Get your nortel vendor to get a replacement. You slide the old one out, and slide the new one in. I would personally get your vendor to do it though. No programming should have to be done, and all your voicemail should be intact.

You must have a Vendor Partner get it for you, the BFT is FREE but the vendor may charge you for Labor. It takes about 30 Min to do.

You need to swap the MSC card out of the old BFT and install it in the new BFT and turn it on.
