Hi all!

I just wanted to check before I head out somewhere.

Can you put a 200 BFT into a 400 Chassis? The reason being that I wanted to have raid drives, which are supported in the software and do work on the unit. Unfortunately, because of the positioning of the hard drives in the 200, the LEDs and reset button are not accessible.

Comments would be great!

Thanks

I've seen it done the other way round with a 400 BFT in a BCM 200 chassis.

If you have a BCM 400 BFT, then just consider swapping out the MSC card as this has the BCM's MAC or site ID underneath it. It might be the easiest way for you.

Thanks on that. The raid does work ok in software. The only reason I considered putting the 200 BFT in the 400 chassis was so that I could mount the hard drives in the separate tray facing forward so that the reset button and the LED's would be visible from the front of the unit and for licensing attached to the MSC card. Otherwise, I'm considering just putting the unit in and leaving the back plate open or loose so that in the event of a hard drive failure, when the alarm would go off, you could at least get to the reset alarm button on the raid controller.

I did end up putting the raid unit in the BCM200 and it worked fine. In fact they do have a plate on the back of the 200 where the hard drive goes that allows for the LEDs to show status for the primary and secondary drive as well as the pin hole to allow for resetting the alarm if it goes off. All is good. It does work.
