Hello All,
Inherited a BCM 200 3.6 Build 2.2c from a client that went out of business. Intent was to install for another client. Original system had a T1 Module and DSM32.

The T1 module was replaced with the CATM8 analog trunk module and the hole system was tested working about 1 month ago then sat on the shelf. Nothing at that time was altered or changed in the configuration from original client.
Today we went to install it. When powering it up we heard loud buzzing noise from chassis and we unplugged the analog trunk module to find that it was merely a loud fan.
Not sure if this hindered something so I thought I should mention.
We then did a **startup from the telset...we wanted to wipe the configuration from previous client system programming and start fresh.

All lights on the System Chassis Showed Green, on both modules and main lights showed all green except for light designated with the number 1.
We went in via LAN2 port with cross over cable and entered the Unified manager area.
We were able to see our System, Resources, Services areas etc....however, under services, Telephony Services it showed nothing. No system DN's No capabilities, etc. Our only option from Services area was Tools-Backup or Restore.

All physical sets came up and showed valid DN's and set 221 was recieving incoming calls on an intercom path listing a line number from prime.
Intercom tone sounded much different then typical, more of the sound like when calling overseas 011, but again still worked.

We then decided to do the setup and Management Wizard, the wizard asked questions regarding Mobility...listing Etiquette and a few others like DECT, and only offered T1 or E1, and template PBX.

We did an inventory report which we can provide below, can anyone provide some insight as to what may be going on? I've looked everywhere in the system to enable modules and tried following the help prompts within the BCM but to no avail. I've worked on CICS,MICS,BCM50's, but not many 200/400's. Any guidance would be greatly accepted! My apologize for the long winded post.

The BCM 200 systems can be very much a pain to deal with. During the power up process, do you see any Red lights on the front of the BCM panel. I've had cases where the IDE drive wasn't seated properly or that it was in the wrong drive slot as there are two connetors on the Motherboard.

Check all the connections are sound and secure. Check that the Motherboard hasn't got any leaking capacitors. Personally I'd advise you to see if you can still get a keycode upgrade to 4.0 as the older 3.x versions weren't that good running on Windows NT.

Might also be worth cleaning it if ut's dirty inside.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Hello,
Thank you, all lights flashed green on power up.
I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something simple.
Thanks for your response, I will work on this further...

Try running the universal profile from the command line initialization menu. Make sure you set the date on the system to something way back in the past otherwise the management certificate for the web interface will not work. or you can run the SSL certificate fix patch afterwards. I usually set the date via DOS to something like January 1 2004, run the universal profile, then set the date back to current afterwards.

Thanks biv343,
I wouldn't know the first thing about running the universal profile etc.
It may go back on the shelf until I meet someone like yourself. Lol
Thanks again!
