Hi All,

I'm an Avaya admin by trade, but have been asked to begin aquainting myself with a Nortel BCM 2.5 system which our China office purchased.

The first thing I'm trying to do is determine this systems capacities, capabilities & limitations. Could anyone provide this information or a link where I can find the documentation?

TIA,
Steve

shows the specs for BCM 3.6

I this a native BCM 2.5? Or upgraded 2.0 box?

If a native BCM 2.5 with the 20GB HDD then I suggest you upgrade to BCM 3.6 as the upgrade is free and softwarebased only.

If it was a ntaive 2.0 box with the 8gb HDD you need to purchase the upgrade kit containing the new 20GB HDD. THis will however force you to reprogram the BCM from scratch.

BCM2.5 requires a 20 GB HDD.
In your case the of the 2.5 version the the major enhancement in 3.x are the bug fixes and the scalability of digital sets.
2.5 TDM sets max= 80
3.x TDM sets max= 192 if 100% IP trunking is used.
