Hi,

I recently sent out an HTML message using a third party tool. When i checked my e-mails i wasn't surprised to see that someone had received it as plain text but what i was surprised about was he could also see everyone the e-mail had been BCC'ed in to. Surly this shouldn't happen but is it an issue with the third party tool or my outgoing SMTP server?

Cheers,

Hugh

Yes. Maybe. You don't provide any specifics as to what applications you're using. Typically, in a BCC scenario, a separate email message should be created and sent for each person who's BCC'd, and one message for everyone that is on the To: and/or CC: line.

The best way to verify what's happening is to check the message tracking logs on your SMTP box to see if there is any indication as to how many copies are being sent out, and who they are going it.
