Hi all,

I am new to database programming and am wondering thge best route to follow. Coming from a BCB compiler and C background the use of embedded SQL statements seems the most logical. In BCB there seem to be two main ways to go: BDE or ADO. Which would be the better and why ?

Any advice on starting out would be appreciated ,

regards,

bigSteve

In my own case, all I use for database programming is BDE's TDatabase and TQuery components, with a BDE alias for a MySQL ODBC driver. I find it quick and simple and reliable and powerful.

I've never used ADO, so I don't know how it compares to BDE.
