FW on device boards i want to make a totaly new installation from scratch so i have the now how to fix a new disk and insert INL on it then i start the lim and it starts when and how do i use the limdisp that i have on my pc for me locking in to the files i se what i take as a range of command strings to run as batch is this correct what i meen is do i take the files and run them by winfiol as batchfiles trough the serial connection or is it files that i should put on the hdu path/? i sum it upp what i want is a lim up and running but i want to add all custumer data as extension numbers routs trunks etc on my own as a learning project i have been installing businessphone for 16 years and have worked some on md110 but not in the heart of system sw as i said i can make the disk ready for inl start but then i am a little confused about the limdisp a now that i have to have a bc12 lic file so thats no ? about the licens but the thing i am lost is wath steps from started lim on hdu/inl to a system ready for custumer data

Hi mdman1

a lot of thinks in your post.

First of all you must create a PCREGEN via Service Assistant Manager Toolbox. This tool provide you the possibility to printout all data from your exchange and migrate you in any later release (ie you can migrate from BC11 to BC12 or Mxone Telephony Switch, but not from Mxone TSW to BC11).

Then you can request a new LIC file for the system you want to upgarde via Pocket SolveIT with is the ordering tool from Ericsson to upgrade sites. With this tool, it will also provide your the corresponding proms to upgrade your Hardware. This is mandatory as the lic file is tight to your I/O board (IPU/NIU or NIU2)

After that you can fetch the latest INL from Knowledge base, with is BC12 SP11 so far, but I would recommend to upgrade to MXone Telphony Switch (aka BC13) with is in SP02.

in the ZIP file you have INL+Limdisp. Each BC release (and even each SP) has its own Limdisp file. SO you cannot use the one you have for new INL/SP.

The process to load a system from INL is rather simple:
1/Put the INL directory structure and files on the HDU under the directory /SYSN/USR1/SES/DR
2/Put the lic file under the directory /SYSN/USR1/SES/LI
3/Power on the system.
4/When the system is ready load the LIC file via the command LIDAI:path=/sysn/usr1/ses/li/name of your file;
5/Send the Limdisp
6/Set the date (command CATII)
7/Make a DUMP so you have a system up an running but free of data
8/Load the PCREGEN you have taken from the previous release
9/Make a dump with data this time
10/Verify that everything is ok by making calls
11/set automatic dump by command DUFQI

Good luck

Ok!

Many thanks for this great help ! i have just on question you write 5/Send Lim Disp how is that done can you explain it that is the part i have? about do i just send it as a cmd file from winfiol or? i have studied alex so i now that there is commands for limdisp but i need help on the procedure i am as i said not so god on md110 but i have worked with business phone for 15 years and i have studied md110 for many years and now i have gotten my self some lims to play with i wanted to explore the system really well so every pice of advice is gold! so my mission is to have a lim upp and running just like a new initiated BP that is without any custumer data but a system that just needs configuring extensin numbers trunk numbers routs etc so i have no rush as my intrest is learning every step until system is up and running and configurated

Many Thanks
Lasse

Hi

Limdisp is just a file that content comments and MD commands. You can send it via winfiol as any command file.
The advantage of this file is that it contain all relevant command for starting a system in a proper way without need of knowing the order of the neccessary command or point all program unit you have to load.
You have a Limdisp for each possible size of your system from 1 LIM up to 11 LIMs. If you have a Group Siwth in your system, you need to edit the corresponding file to specify in the first CNLDI commands for each LIM the correct GSMULT parameter as well as in the command GJLII at the end of the file.
For system bigger than 11 LIMs, you have to merge the file 11lim.fr and as many xlim.fr files that are necessary for following LIMs from LIM 12 and so on (assuming that each new part of xlim.fr has the correct information for the LIM in the first CNLDI command). Merging the 2 files need to be done inside the file 11lim.fr after the command CNLDT of the LIM 11 and before the command LAPUT.
You have to add also a GJLII command line for each PCM line that connect the LIM above 11 to the GS.

Hi again as i said before i am an Business phone technican so i have a little problem i will try to get hold of the latest SP on BC12 i have some older versions and the latest i have is sp9 my trouble is that i cant reach md filles on E so if i cant get it from some college here in Sweden could you help me the same goes for fw files?

Hi

well it is not only SW, it will also concern HW changes if you want to upgrade your system.
And even if you find the SW around, you will miss the license file to start your system. ANd no one expect Ericsson provide the license file for the corresponding BC release.
I suggest you to take contact with some Ericsson representatives that will help you to analyze what you will need to upgrade your system.

Best regards
