I have a BC12 SP9 connected to Octel Serenade s.4.0.0-2. I've had a couple of issues where after listening to a voicemail, the 'MEW' indicator on the phone still indicates there is a voicemail. Even though in octel there wouldn't be any message. To get around this and 'kill' MEW indicator, I have to delete the phone and install it again in Extension manager.

Has anyone had this experience and what the workaround is?

not specific to your problem but you should be able to do #91# on the handset to clear MEW,

As written in the OCTEL forum:
Try at the OCTEL command line"@": MWL RELITE or MWL RECALC.
This will tidy up the message lamp database.
In the MD110, try to do an ICUPI;
Check for if the ICFUP; allows UPDATING (UPDFCN=YES) for the actual IFCIND interface.
Then also check for commond grounding between the PBX and OCTEL server.

Another hint: Try to send this from the OCTEL command line"@":L R 8 and ALL.
This will list af report of all user with detailed info on the number of new and saved messages.
Then you will have the number of the phones that have messages in the OCTEL system.
