how many channels do I need atleast between LIM and GS. I think it is depending on the fact: With how many channels can a LIM load?

you need at least 4 B channels for system load

Daddy: System load is system load. But if you have a running system, it "climbs" up with 1 channel. I actually never tested to load from INL a system "live" (I have a simulator only with all channels), but when/if you have a running system, it works with 1 chanel. What happens with this kind of configration in practice, is completely unknown, never seen this outside lab env.

fcpli, what you are saying is correct,
but having only one channel would be absolutely pointless seeing the amount of buffer transfer data that is being sent between remote lims and I/O lim. I say 4 channels is the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM to have a correct working system (eg a remote lims that loads from distance). we have one customer who has a remote site on a 384Kb link and we have many problems with that lim (buffer transfer errors).

advice to larl : if you don't have enough bandwith between both sites, you're better off with a stand-alone lim and use that link as QSIG...

Daddy: This was theory, and what concerns practice, I agree with you completely!
