Hi All,

Is it possible to take the license from a system and give it to another? Both are BC10.

Thanks in advance

License is attached to written eic of master NIU(/2),

I'll tell you the details:
I have one MD110 BC10 out of usage and a working one.
And I'd like to transfer cards and licenses from the first to the other.
Is it possible?

Thank you!

Your license, IPAD number, (e.g. 04-xxxx) is linked to the eic number of the NIU/NIU2/IPU.
If your non-working MD110 has more active licenses than the working one, you could swap the NIU/HDU of the non-working MD to the working MD.
This is a HARD job, but it will be the only way.
Aastra/Ericsson has BC10 in passive substaining, so it will cost you a lot of money to get them to transfer licenses...

You could rebuild the active PBX with the NIU and license from the non-active one. It is a long job, but if you really want to do it then it is the only way.

Copy the license file off the HDU of the old PBX
Make an INL dump of the BC10 system
Perform a PC-Regen on the working PBX.
Replace the HDU and NIU of the working PBX with one from the old PBX
Build the system on the working PBX
Install the license you took from the old PBX
Put the PC-Regen data back into the new PBX

This way you still have the old NIU and disk, so if anything goes wrong you can just put it back n and reboot.

fred - if you want to add on the licenses from old system to the new one, no this is not possible, you can only use one or other licenses. Aastra will not combine a BC10 license.

We have merged, combined licenses several times. It does not cost so much. But most of these are actual versions. If you ask your local dealer they can manage it for you. But as I said you pay something.
