Hello, I have been a mature computer science student for the past few years and have reached a certificate award but am totally dejected by their teaching system and standard.

For this reason I am considering the UK based Open University. I would be grateful if there are any current student of computing or information technology who can provide me with some of their experiences.

I am told that unlike normal college the Open University has well established standard of delivery and course material. My only concerns are the assesment support and marking scheme.

The modules of interest are:

T224
T224
M263
M257 and the like

Sorry for such a late post! I think the OU is a true distance learning university because they provide good quality course books as well as tuition and support services. They've been voted as the top university in the UK for good quality tuition services.
Come to think of it you save money on books and exams which all come as extra expenses on other University courses. You might perhaps need to buy coursebooks on some OU courses but I think they supply them as part of the course.
I have enrolled on a course at the OU and am contemplating whether to go either for an Open Degree which gives you more flexibility or a named degree.
Good luck with your studies.
