newbie here,,

I have a 5510 that I am trying to connect to our network core (8600) using duel fiber.

when the switch is on a single fiber connection it works great but when I try putting it into a mlt and add the second fiber I can no longer access the switch thru telnet/web/jdm or ping the switche's IP ... I am able to rdc to a windows server that is on the switch.
If anyone has any pointers with how to setup the mlt I would greatly appreciate it!!

if you are setting mlt between one 5510 and one 8600, then you just need to enable MLT on ports connecting both devices. Also make sure that the VLAN assigment is correct on the MLT.

Lambent

Yes I am connecting one 5510 to one 8600

I have created the MLT on ports 47/48 and the two ports on the 8600, I have enabled tagging on the 8600 vlan settings..

I now can telnet into the 5510's IP but I cannot access it thru JDM or the web. do you have any suggestions on the 5510's tagging settings ?
Thanks
Brian

Sw on the 5510 ? 4.1 ?

5510 should have tag all on the ports to PP8600, use auto PVID.

5510 SW is 4.1

I have the MLT on VLAN 1 *management vlan* on both the 5510 and the 8600

I turned Auto pvid and tagging is on.
Stg is on group 1 for both

I still have the problem that some traffic seems to be blocked.

I am pretty new to this so I might be missing something simple.
is there any standard config files that can be d/l ?

1) make sure you have set the default gateway on 5510
2) make sure you have done the proper settings to enable web access
