baystack 470 not booting

hi,

wanted to upgrade the firmware, had
an error.
now the switch doesn´t boot.
(all port leds are lighting and i have not
communication over the console cable)


what can i do?

my question is... have you ever done a console cable connection before this happened...

why did it fail? what was the exact error message..
can you give a few more details?
..what versions..

even in a failed firmware upgrade it doesnt just 'die'...
it needs 2 parts to correctly upgrade the firmware...

in that order..

hi,

Yes before that, the console connection was working.
I wanted to upgrade the boot-image and then the tftp-server crashed.
the tftp server crashed, when the download of the firmware was in progress.

file was:
boss3005_diag.bin

well I'm not sure why you were trying to load the diag bin...

I dont have any experience using anything like that...

it also appears you only have to load the one boss Img file.. (I work with a lot of 450s)

I think this may go above my troubleshooting skills but what I would try next is taking out any and all modules and add-ins you may have connected... who knows about incompatabilities or what not.

..then perhaps its time to call nortel?
