hi, we are experiencing a lot of issues with these switches resetting ip phones intermitantly, switch is hareware version 6 with software version 3.1.7.08, it doesnt seem to make a difference how many phones we have on the systems from just a few to all 24 they just seem to reset. anyone experienced this issue ?

Do all the phones reset at the same time? Also: any sign that the switch is rebooting - you can view the sysUpTime under the 'System Characteristics' Menu.

hi, switches dont reboot phones reboot irratically, i ve only ever seen 1 at a time do it, on a working system that works for a few days then sends a port into reset after that its ok for a bit

I forgot to ask: how many phones reboot at a time, is it one or two at a time, all on a given switch, ect.

I don't have Nortel phones so this might be a dead end: do the phones reboot if they loose their connection to the call server(s)? What I'm thinking is its worth understanding if this is a PoE problem or a connectivity problem. I suppose a person could test by unplugging the 460s uplink and seeing how the phones react.

Are they Nortel phones on a CS1000 system? If so, have you updated the phone firmware to the current level?
