Hello i am new to networking, please help me with a problem that i have!
I get a 450-24t switch and i don`t know how to setup this. Somebody told me that i had to access the switch thru a serial cable so i get a serial cable i conected the pc and the switch , i launched the hyperterminal, i set up a conection with a 9600 rate but when i try to connect it writes on taskbar that it`s connected but on the screen does appear only the prompt.

You need a 9way to 9way null modem cable. You connect through hyper terminal at 9600 7 even 1 and vt100. You need to press control y to bring up the menu screen. What are you looking to configure the switch should work out of the box
