Baystack 425-48T

I have a new baystack 425-48T Switch with 3.5.0.06 software. I changed the IP address from the console port. so i could get to it from my network. I can't ping the address or telnet into it. I rebooted the switch and the IP still shows in the IP CONFIGURATION. Do i use the INBAND STACK or INBAND SWITCH for my IP address?
