I have problems connecting to the console port of my baystack 350 switch... I don´t know the ip address of the switch.. I´m using a straight trough pin-to-pin cable and Hyperterm PE.. Running windows XP..

When I connect the cable it does not show anything on the screen and nothing happens when I reboot the switch..

I have also read every thread related to this topic but nothing works...( ctrl-Y , ctrl-C , typing NetICs after bootup , etc. etc. )

Is there another way of reset the switch.. maybe open it up and removing some sort of backup battery??

I always suspect needing a null modem adaptor, it is also possible that the previous owner changed the baud rate

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Thanx for the help but I got it working... I used a bootp/tftp server program to give the switch an iP-address.. Then I used a terminal program and connected trough winsock..

Cool Now you can read what serial parameters there are, so you can get in next time
