Hi, I am thinking of how I can use the 802.1p functions on the BayStack 325 for the following purposes and would appreciate any feedback.

- We have private WAN with QoS activated for voice communications from site to site. (No long distance as opposed to passing via the regular PSTN for internal communications from branch to branch)

- BCM 400 with existing digital phones with local access to the PSTn for internal and outgoing calls

- I will create 2 VLANS; one for the existing Data network whick will plug into one port of the BS325, the other a Voice VLAN that will come from the BCM to the baystack 325. I want the 325 to understand that any data coming from the voice VLAN will be prioritized.

- I then want 1 trunk port to be activated to the WAN router. (the WAN is a L3 and based on MPLS)
Now my question; will the BS325, configured properly be able to prioritize my packets even though it is a L2 switch for voice? I would like the queing to take place in the switch.

Any recommendations? I understand that their might be a L3 switch that can do this better but I want to make use of the 325 I already have.

BTW, I have used the 325 as a l2 switch and am very satisfied with the results
