Baystack 253 - lost password

I have a Baystack 253 on which the password has been lost.
Can anyone advise how to reset the password to default or obtain the current password?
I have tried interupting the Booting process and NMM initialisation (with a CTRL-C) to access the Boot Main
Menu ,reseting the EEPROM to factory defaults.
But this doesn't clear the password.
