Hi, i need your help for a problem i'd get soon. I try to send a trap to my HP openview system for a BayStack 450-24T i've the right mibs...but i dont have the root mib for baystack, i download all mibs from their website and dont work, i try with synoptics mibs too...but my system never understand the trap...

My switch seems well configured!

Thanks for your help!

have you tried using the SNMPNotify command? just to see if it's understanding the trap right? try sending the trap manually, just to see if it responds the way you want it to :

snmpnotify node event-oid

if it responds, then maybe the switch isn't send the proper trap. if it doesn't respond, maybe the response isn't configured right. . .

Hi, thanks for you help...but your command do nothing. I had do some test and i finally got the right OID for the trap...it's 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.3.35.1

But the problem is when i shutdown a interface on my switch, OpenView receive the trap with another generic OID for HP OpenView...but the problem is that i configure all the stuff to got specific OID trap response like i do on my cisco switch...cisco work perfectly but i dont see how i can fix my Nortel problem...

So, thanks again!

You will find that code versions 4.3 or later on the 450 require the baystack 5510 mibs to be loaded. In particular i believe it is the notification mib bsn003.mib.

Give it a go and let me know if it works for you
