I've reconditioned this Perc2 battery in the past and it's taken about 10 hours. Currently it's been almost 14 hours and is still reconditioning.

I spoke to Dell TS. The guy there said he's seen it take 2 days which is, to me, way unacceptable.

What times have you experienced? I started one at the same time on another server and it took 9 hours. I'm just wondering if I should push for a tech to come and install a new battery.

It it's going to take a few more hours, I suppose I can live with it. But this is our primary SQL server and no cashing on writes is a killer to performance.

Thanks!

I'd say around 10 hours is normal for us, I generally just kick it off at 5pm or over a weekend though and leave it run and hope it's done by the next working day.

Mind you I've also run it during a normal day and no one complained the server was running slowly.

Hi Nick,

2nd call to Dell TS, they said to reboot the box. Did it and battery shows as low charge. The popup now said it has a self charging battery that should charge in a few hours. Well 12 hours latter, still shows as low.

Dell is sending new battery today, I have some updating of the perc2 firmware/driver/fast.

Any recomendations on procedure for that?

Thanks again!
