I am wondering what others experiences are with UPS performance with Partner ACS, with the messaging module. I have never had any outages for my customers beyond a few minutes, and wondered what real life experiences are with UPS requirements to power a full cabinet ACS with the full blown messaging module? What do I need to recomend to give them 1 hr, 2 hr, 3 hr, 4 hr, 8 hr up time without local power?

Most UPS manufacturers' websites offer some sort of calculator to help determine, based on the certain requirements, which UPS model is right for a particular application.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

take the worst case scenario: 5 slot carrier has a 4 A fuse for input that would make it 4x115=460Watt power consumption
make sure that the UPS can provide this power for the needed time

I thank you guys for your responses, and I do already have the calculator sites, and ability to plug in the equation numbers to figure max load times. What I was looking for was any real data on how long to expect the system to stay up in real life loads. For instance how much draw an idle system has versus load per active extension, line, etc. being in use. I would assume that idle is much less, and light usage would be less than 417VA which is about the ACS with messaging module max load. I am asking about peoples experiences running on back up power only.

It will also depend on what type of phones you have connected, with or without display, if the display is backlit and the level it is set to, I never had to worry about that I usually just told customers don't save on the backup if you want the phones to work for a long time (1 hour is along time in a power outage) and have analog phones handy to plug in, in case the battery backup goes down. Sorry to not have more specific data for you, but should I find something on the weekend then I will let you know.
