batch scripts

EXPERIENCE: Newbie to SQL SERVER

In working with Oracle, I have been able to run batch scripts by invoking SQLPLUS via the Windows Command Line. In searching through some of the threads, I believe this can be done for SQL SERVER.

Can someone help get me started on how to write batch scripts for SQL SERVER? Some of my immediate questions are:

Is there a SQLPLUS equivalent? And what is it?
What is the logon format?
What reference manual or site would you recommend?

1) Use the OSQL utility.
2) Logon format depends on authentication method used.

Hiya,

I was wondering if anybody knows a a program that will convert simple oracle sql scripts to mssql? I've tried Equivelent Script and it is not what I'm looking for. These are very simple scripts, no sp's or pl/sql.

any thoughts?
