Hi,

I hope somebody can give me some input.

We would like to use acrobat to scan in several thousand documents. The perfect way would be to have this automated.
For example: We would like to use document separator (one doc consists of more then one page) to automated the scanning process. The software would recognize text (OCR), then save it as searchable PDFs.

Can I do that with some add on from within acrobat? Or maybe any other program on mind?

We're looking at a low cost solution. We've seen the expensive programs. (5000 and up)

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Steve

You could use something like PDFsplit to seperate the multipage PDFs into single pages then run something like OmniPage Pro to OCR the PDF and save back to PDF (it will also save out to many different formats) which is what we do sometimes, which is cheap compared to some of the stuff out there.
It works out to be a two step process.
