Batch scanning

I am involved in a batch scanning project, we are trying to scan several thousand documents, save them into separate pages, and folders.

I was wondering if maybe Adobe, or some other vendor would have such a product.

I am not sure how the software would know here one document ends, and where the other starts, specially if one document is made of several pages.

Any input is apprciated.

We aleady have a scanner, HP5500
