Batch Processing

I have Adobe 7.0 running on a WinXP machine. My goal is to convert multiple, High Res Jpeg Images, into jpeg images of a specific size and quality for use in a web site. I would also like to make minor balance or contrast adjustments, these adjustments would be that same for each image.

I don't know where to get started. Are there any pre-written batch scripts out there?? I am not a programmer so any insight would be appreciated.

You can record actions in Photoshop then apply them to a batch of files.
Assuming you want all the images to be the same size/format.
(Note I'm doing this from memory and it normally takes me a couple of attempts to get it right, so back yup your files first!)

Open one of your files

Open the Action Pallete and click "New Action" - Give it a meaningful name

Click "Record"

Resize the image as you wish

Save it as you wish

Close it.

Click the "Stop" button in the Actions Pallete


Now under the File menu select Automate->Batch

Select the Action you want to use
Select the source folder of the files
Select the destination folder - use a different one to your source so you dont overwrite the files
Click "overide action open" commands (I think)

Go for it!

Sorry if it doesnt work exactly as you wish. I'm sure you can work it out from there
