Can anybody shine any light on Batch files? I have a .bat file that will create a directory, move to that directory and start to run an exe that updates IE settings. It pops a message saying that you must reopen your browser for changes to be effective. You click ok on this, and then it returns to the DOS box, which has the word Finished in the title bar. It does not close.
I have tried a few things, like exit (Which works under NT) but cannot get anywhere. Any ideas anyone?

Are you running the batch file from an icon or shortcut on the desktop/Start Menu? If so, right click on the icon and choose properties. Under one of the tabs, I can't remember which one, there is a check box for "Close Window on Completion" or something like that. Check that and it should close for you.
Hope this helps,
Or - when the DOS window is still open and says 'Finished' at the top, left-click on the Properties button in the toolbar (3rd from right, I think). There's a Close on Exit option in there that will write a PIF in the same file location that will close the DOS window after executing the BAT.
