batch file copy to copy newest file

does anyone know how I can use xcopy or similar to copy the newest file in a directory?

xcopy with the /d:%date% switch does not work due to me having the UK settings for date format (d-m-y) and xcopy needing US format (m-d-y).

Check out robocopy.exe. It should do the trick nicly for you.
