They’ve decided to make our magazine’s back issues available to subscribers online, in the Flash page-turning format. This will involve me re-purposing each issue’s set of print-quality PDFs in order to output a SWF. The problem is that the trim marks vary in position: the files we made are all the same, of course, but some advertisers might use a bigger canvas and others might place things off centre. I want to find a batch process that will let me say: 'Take these 62 PDFs, combine them in one file and crop to the various trim marks. Next!'

As far as I can see, though, cropping in Acrobat is very limited. It you can apply a crop to all pages you still have to draw a marquee first. You can enter measurements manually but they are all based on getting rid of material measured from the edge, rather than following a trim mark wherever it happens to be placed on the canvas.

Have I missed something?
