Basing Reports on Database Views

As a way of getting more control over joins than the Catalog was giving me, and in the hope that they will be re-usable for future reports, I've been experimenting with basing reports on database views.

I'd be interested if people think this is a good road to go down.

However I've come across an error when adding an extra field to a View after a report has already been developed.

I had to re-generate the view in the Catalog, deleting the old first so that the new has the same name. When I attempt to add the new field to the report I get the error message: "DMS_E_RBI_QCLOUMN, Column... was not found in table or view T1".

How can I fix this?

Thanks.

Bruce

Bruce,

As a general rule, when you add a column to an existing Impromptu catalog you should close and relaunch Impromptu in order for it to be seen without this error.

After that it should work like a charm.
