I have 150 computers, 8 switches connected to eachother to a netscreen as the router.
The connection on the swithc to switch is 1gig, but since all the computers have the default gateway as the netscreen they all have to route trought the netscreen at 100mbps, doesnt that basically mean i have 100mbps network?

If they are on the same subnet they never talk to the default gateway to talk to each other. They only use the default gateway if they attempt to leave their subnet.

You should have 1 switch designated as the "core" switch and the other 7 switches plug directly into that core switch.
