Are there any programming differences? I know I'm going to need to change the channel assignments, but aside from that are there any changes I need to worry about? I'm new to the world of voice.

T1s usually use D4 framing and PRIs use B8ZS (in the US). Don't forget a T1 has 24 56k channels and a PRI has 23B + 2D (23 64K and 1 64k for signaling)channels. You definately don't want to assign any voice to the sigaling channel on a PRI or you PRI won't funtion.

In summary just get the PRI specs from your provider and match them at your end and you should be fine.

Note if you are in Europe, Aus, NZ and the rest of the World ( Not USA and Japan) the PRI has 30 64K Channels

There are some extra programming tweaks, the use of a ; on the end of dialing shortcodes and the - at the front of incoming call route DDI numbers I think - I'm not US based so hopefully someone else can confirm those, as far as I know the ; is only used on PRI rather than T1 but I happy to be told it used on both.

Otherwise, as stated, match the providers settings and touch wood.

Just ask the carrier how many voice channels they are providing and if they want enbloc or overlap as sizbut suggested.

I'd get them to hook it up and play with it out of hours and return to the other if you are unsure

Sorry, I'm kind of ignorant about phone systems. Does anyone have any sites that would have resources for me to read up on?

Sorry, I'm more referring to "enbloc and overlap". Thanks.
