Hi all,

I am going to install BCM50 next week, I have the Nortel Install guide and I am already administrating BCM 200/400
but I never install a BCM 50. I am sure there is some tips
that would help me during the installation, if you could
"warn me about" some typical installation problem that would
be really appreciate.

E.g, what's typical default pw, any dip switch settings...

Thanks,

1st thing to do is open the pdfs. Read the manual, egt the bcm out of the box and practise.

I am always suprised when people in IT do this. Would you expect somebody who administers an application to go and install a different application onto the servers without any relevant training.

Dont forget the telephone system is the main point of contact with your customers.

Default dipswitch settings on BCM50. The expansion module dictates its address.

I am installing E1 with VOIP phone, basically how long it takes to setup BCM for 10 users, with basic config.

depends on your skills and knowledge of the product. I could have it up in a day depending on how many patches need to be loaded, what type of programming, and barring there are no hardware or telco issues.
