Basic questions for definitions

I'm a newbe and I jsut had someone answer a question but didn't know what is probably a duh answer, but what the hey. I don't know!

control1 - Control2?

field1 - field2 makes sense, I think.

I fixed this error by placing a db. in front of OpenRecordSet.

But what is control1?

this code is setting the control(maybe a textbox?) named control1 on probably a form to equal what ever is in the first field it found that matched the criteria set in .findfirst in the recordset you opened
