I need a phone tester, even an older unit should do. any idea where to find one ?

I have not heard of a phone tester. What does it do? I get my phone tools from GrayBar if that helps.

Are you referring to a "buttset"? If so, check local RadioShacks and HomeDepot type places. You can usually find some for decent prices around there. Not the greatest models of course, but they get the job done.

There's also about a half dozen listed on eBay at pretty good prices.
