I am looking into implementing Blackberry, but have a few questions...

Is there any any advantages in going with the Server Software over the Desktop Software? I will have no more than 30 users.

Also, if I choose the Desktop Software for each user, do they have to be logged in at all times? For example, if they shut their PC down will the Blackberry continue to function normally?

I have Exchange 2003 running on Windows 2003, all clients are Outlook 2003 if that matters.

Desktop means EACH PC must be on to forward each person's emails. Server means always on for all users.

30 users = definitely go for the server.

Am I correct that I have to go with Enterprise Edition? And isn't it $5000 for 20 Users, and $80 each additional User?

Sounds about right. The desktop software means each and every PC needs to be on all the time, in Outlook...

Given the line rental and purchase cost of hardware / server, the software isnt actually that much.
