I have a small network over a large area (some places have only one computer that I need to connect). Is it possible to lease lines from a phone company and plug these lines straight into a hub so that I can get connectivity between sites??

Are the leased lines like a physical cable connecting to points or is it a dial up type connection??

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Kenny

There are different types of lines you can purchase depending on your budget and purpose and need for security.

You can get a point to point T-1(1.4M) which is about $1500/month. or Fractional that varies with bandwidth.

If you want to Keep cost down and still maintain speed consider DSL [which is hell to get in and is a pain] or cable(see if your provider offers static IP). You can create a VPN tunnel and connect offices.
