Hi all,

In an existing mixed mode environment with a proxy server 2.0 firewall/web proxy, what is the best way to add ISA standard edition in integrated mode?

What is the recommended hardware configuration of an non-enterprise ISA box, aside from the 2 NIC requirment?

We are migrating from NT40 to W2K. The existing W2K has plans to be rebuilt from the ground up as there were issues in that box's creation from day one. The plans are to build an AD W2K Root with DNS and to add Exchange 2000 to it. There are a total of 100 clients, including 30 remote clients. The remote clients connect to Exchange via the internet and Outlook express client software.

Our plan is to end up with the ISA box, the root W2K AD DC with Exchange 2k, a RIS Server,a file/print box, 2 additional Global catalog servers(a backup search and authentication box and one for a remote WAN linked site), and an application member server.

We already have the software and the CALs, the issues at hand is the actual designand the designs feasibility.

I spent some time at the ISAserver.org website reading up on it, but I am wanting to know what works in the real world for an environment of the size I am dealing with. I understand that ISA needs to have a W2K server platform in which to sit upon, but am I looking at a minimum configuration of Intel P2 500Mhz with 512MB ram and 18+ GB hard drive in a mirrored array for fault-tolerance acceptable? Is this too small a configuration? We do not host our own web servers, those are offsite with a hosting company that is a more robust infrastructure.

What are your feelings in using RAID 1 mirrors for fault-tolerance in the ISA box ?

All replies are appreciated and will help us to plan a better role out. Thanks in advance.
