Basic Insert Date Column

This is a very basic question. I am using SQL Server 2000 and I want to add a colmn to a table that will insert the date or date/time when the data is loaded into the table.

I appreciate the help.

In enterprise manager, add the column (datetime data type) and in the default column - put getDate().
