Basic Assistant Setup BCM 400/3.6

I am in charge of managing a BCM 400 system using the 3.6 management software. My basic question is on setting up "assistant type" phones. These sets need to be able to see and answer calls coming in to their bosses. I'm sure this is THE most basic thing you can setup but I am unsure of how to do it.

Appreciate the help!

services
telephony services
sets
active set DN's
DN xxxx (secretary extention)
expand trunk/line data
answer DN XXXX (boss extention)
 
Is this the same as:

DN (secretary)
Line Access
Answer DNs
Answer DN (Boss's DN)

(That's my current attempt at this which doesn't seem to be working)

Okay. That does work (Internally), however do you know the setup for External calls coming through to this boss's DID? How can that secretary set see and answer those calls?

You can add a APP & Ring of the Boss DID Target line on her phone.


Look at the boss's phone and see what his DID target Line is.

An Answer DN will work on DIDs also, as long as the DID is not set to private.
