Can someone please help me with 2 very basic admin functions?

Firstly, how to do set an extension to automatically divert to voicemail after a number of rings. I assume it some form of hunt group, which I think is already setup on my switch.

Secondly, when I do a trex on an extension, it is showing that it is down. Is there a MMI command to reboot extension?

The number of rings will be pre-set on the system but you would need to activate the voicemail on the extension by doing RIVU command followed by the extension number providing the system has been configured correctly.

Is the extension you have TREXed a digital handset or analogue?

Voicemail has been setup, and I have rivu the extension. Is there any way to see if the call will automatically go to voicemail after a number of rings.

The extension that I trex was an digital extension.

For automatic divert to IVM parameters spile and spidg,
spile is when the ivm is local and spidg when remote, then rivu sets the flag to say to go to ivm, say it is local, it thens looks at spile which should have a value in it to point to ivm hunt group. Parameter timer tmbiv is the time in seconds before it is passed to the ivm (default 5).

All these parameters are detailed in the manuals under lssp.

Sorry forgot about the downed digital extension,
normally if you trace a digital extension and it shows down it means there is no digital telephone attached to the circuit, this can be proved by using the limp command, (list digital tele info.) this is a confusing command because of the various type of Phones some can be limp'ed by a straight
limp 012001/16 (what ever pad) and later cards (DTU/DTI/HG3530) have a possable of 32 phones per pad, so thes are counted as:-
0121 a1 a = limp 012101
0121 a3 a = limp 012105
0121 a3 b = limp 012106
0121 a16 b = limp 012132

this command responds with phone type, number of reset etc.
if no phone present it will come back with time out.

I hope this helps.
