Knowing which files have a baseline isn't sufficient. You also need to know which tasks were baselined since it is possible to baseline a subset of tasks or, as another possibility, you can baseline the entire file and then subsequently add additional tasks which haven't been baselined.
quick check:
View > Gantt
insert the column "Baseline Start"
If there's a date then the task has been baselined. If the date is "NA" then the task has not been baselined.
It is possible to save up to 11 baselines but it's important to know that there is only one "official" baseline, the others are not considered when, for example, you are calculating Earned Value.
When you create a baseline, by the way, it does other "behind the scenes" work in addition to putting the Start and Finish in the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish.
