Base Url reference in external CSS file

is there any way to have the base url specified in an external CSS file instead of inline???

I need the IP of the server updated almost daily ( i'm forced to use DHCP) and have a utility to check the IP , imput into a file.. and ftp it up to the server. I want the file to be the css stylesheet file.. (this would be the easiest to do.. since all of my pages refer to this one document)..

It would be VERY easy with ASP and/or SSI - does your server support any of these? This is not a bug - it's an undocumented feature...
