Base a report on excel

This is just a question to see if it is possible.
Is there a way to base a report on an excel spreadsheet, or do I have to import the info into a new table.

Have you tried to link an access table to the excel sheet ?

I am ignorant at this so bear with me. So link my Contracts table to my excel spreadsheet.

In the database window:
menu Files -> External data -> Link tables ...
Choose excel files.
