hello,

I will certainnly do the job my own, but some tips or hints to use and read a barcode are very much appreciated.
Ones I saw a simple ms access application using barcode to indentify an order. When the order arrived the user simply scanned with a barcode reader handheld device the printed barcode on the paper to indentify and to automatically write that the order was arrived. Is this easy and what is required to implement this ?

regards.

Use the advances search feature on this site, there are a lot of threads on barcodes. Some address your issue.

Hi matrixindicator,
To put it simple, a barcode is just graphic/line representation of a number/set of characters. You can read it with a barcode scanner.

Not much required. Connect a scanner to your computer, open for instance a Word document and start scanning all the products that are around you. Voila, there are all the codes on your screen.

Keeping it simple can be complicated

You can get barcode fonts free on-line (if you do not get them with the scanner you choose), so you can print your stock codes as barcodes.

thanks all for the hints, when starting to implement this, I will do some extra research on the forum. As always, its simple but when you try to do it the first time, many times you scratch your hear and wondering what are the missing links.
