Barcode printing for POS 1

Hello All,

I am new to the POS. We are using Quicksell 2000. We have to print barcode labels. These labels have to be really small (they have to fit on ring shaped labels on the individual cigars). The data we want to have on the barcode label is just 6 characters(to identify the product) and barcode that represents 4 to 6 digits.

I think approximately the size of these labels needs to be less than 1/2 inch in length and 1/4 of an inch in width.

Is it possible to print such a small label? If so any recommendation on the hardware?

yes you can print small labels. The one you are going to want is one called a bow-tie label. As far as software goes you will have to find one that interfaces with MS products. I use lable vision with our software because there is an interface for it to our retail product and it will print the bow-tie lables. I'll ask around today to see if I can find a software reccomendation for you.

PS I have a customer with a large humidor full of cigars and they don't barcode their cigars. They use their old pricing gun and mark them with their plu numbers and hand key them in at the register.

My customer wants to do the barcode for humidor cigars as she feels the person at the counter is either putting the wrong price or putting the wrong price on the cigar.Also she feels doing the barcide will help her in other inventory aspects.

Why not just use a cheat-sheet?
Stick a bunch of regular sized barcode labels for your high sellers on some sheets of paper and scan that at the till?
