Hey guys, does access provide a free barcode control (ActiveX)? Or does it provide anything that I can print barcode (native) labels from?

rod,
nothing in Access, but you can find free fonts and code at

All of the standard barcodes are there. With a little tweaking you can adapt them to run in a module.
Jean-Marie is quite an individual has done alot of work on barcodes. Don't forget to let him know how much you appreciate his efforts.

Thanks xaf294, I didn't think so either. By the way, I already have a activeX I purchase a license for and I'm using that for deployment/distribution of my App. The only reason why I asked is because another IT Analyst said that Access provide a built in utility to print barcode labels so therefore I didn't need to buy one. Just wanted to prove him wrong.

While Ms. A, doesn't (to my knowledge at least) have "built in" bar code technology, the BASIC code to generate a variety of "Bar Code" sets is available, and provide a greatdeal of flexability in their use. I believe some of these are discussed (including specific WEB sites) here in these fora. A large advantage of the 'home grown' approach is the avoidance of licensing restrictions which may adorn purchased products. In general, these require a seperate license for each copy.
